Little Peaches

Little Peaches is a mini horse and sort of our barn mascot! She is perfect for the littles and those afraid of larger horses. She does walk, trot, canter, and rides around the property. Over the years of visiting the farmers market, the parades, and pony rides, she has become a steady mount for little kids. She was donated to Rising Hope and is also used for therapeutic riding.

Lyle

Lyle is registered AQHA under the name “Son of Face” and has AQHA points from his years of showing. He specializes in anything from beginner to advanced riders, totally adapting to the rider on his back! He does hunt seat, dressage, western pleasure, and therapeutic lessons. Lyle was donated to Rising Hope from past client of Ellie’s.

Lyle has been sponsored for one year, thank you to the generous Ted & Jane VonVoigtlander Foundation!

Princess

Princess is another great asset. Her owners contacted us when they heard that we were looking for a school horse and are still very involved. She was shown in western pleasure and hunt seat but can do anything and loves trail riding and jumping. She is afraid of nothing and is great for every level of rider. She has smooth, easy gates and is very responsive off of the leg. Princess is a registered Appaloosa mare, born in 2011.

Roger has retired!

A barn favorite, Roger, was sent to live a life of retirement with this cute little pony Pop Tart. Roger was a staple school horse at Rising Hope for just under four years. Unfortunately, due to an old injury that made an appearance, he had to retire from the program.

We pride ourselves in making sure all of our school horses have a soft place to land. Roger will be living with Pop Tart for the foreseeable future with one of our awesome farriers, Marisa Griffin, and her family.

Rose

She is the saints of all saints. Leah has known Rose since her time at Bay Harbor. She has been a rock star her whole life and, at 30, is on her way to retirement. She is extremely valuable to the program because she is so steady for therapeutic and beginner riders. She is our resident lawn mower and is allowed to roam free on the Rising Hope property!

Skittles

Skittles was uneducated when she was donated to Rising Hope. Due to the time and dedication of one of our students, she has made huge progress. She does everything from working cows to jumping, lunge line lessons, trail rides, and therapeutic lessons. Skittles is a large pony, we don’t know her breed for certain but we guess she is a Welsh cross.

Tango

Tango is a grade Quarter Horse, approximately 11 years old. He was used for equestrian team and other western riding events. He has a very sweet and friendly personality in the pasture and when working with him. He isn’t afraid or anything and dog can even jump on his back!

Vinnie

Leah has known Vinnie since he was a baby. He was donated by a successful adult-amateur dressage rider/past client of Leah’s. He has been a huge asset to our program! He is great for all levels, from beginners to dressage riders. Advanced riders will have fun with his dressage moves. He is an Andalusian-Thoroughbred cross and the biggest horse on the property at 17.1 hands!
